Arvin Sango, Inc., a U.S. based manufacturer of exhaust systems and other original equipment parts, has an immediate opening for a ARVIN SANGO, INC. Purchasing Engineering Buyer Specialist This position provides quality assurance support to al ASI locations to ensure that product is built in accordance with customer and company quality requirements. Provide leadership and guidance to all areas in support of product quality with primary focus on project preparation Primary responsibilities include: activities, including all aspects of supply chain procurement, material cost reduction, supplier negotiations, quality and delivery improvements, and supply base reduction. Is responsible for developing and leading supply chain initiatives and Coordinates new project preparation in cooperation with engineering and other departments to ensure timely execution of product sourcing activities Secures and analyzes quotations, negotiates price and terms with suppliers, and recommends suppliers with respect to cost, quality, and delivery competitiveness Able to calculate burden depreciation of various equipment (press, weld cells) and negotiate based on real value /cost of equipment. Able to understand and negotiate press speed, set-up time, labor rates, shipping rates etc. Reviewing rates on new quotes to existing quotes for improvements. Gives more than one valid sourcing option on RFQ Summaries Able to negotiate standard rates with potential suppliers that are improved when reviewed against current suppliers Capable to review a drawing and determine the process steps required to produce the part Works directly with current and prospective suppliers to determine supply capabilities, transportation logistics, etc. Understanding of existing suppliers that are underutilized and making recommendation for termination of business, growth or maintaining For suppliers that would not grow or are maintain, understand the reason ASI added that supplier to the supply base so that adjustments can be made for future activities. Coordinates quality issues and engineering changes/developments between company activities and suppliers. Capable to follow-up on open quality issues including countermeasure activity implementation and recommendations for countermeasures while at a supplier's facility sit suppliers facilities as necessary to qualify them as new sources and assist in resolution of production, design quality, andlor delivery problems. Capable to conduct a Phase I and Phase ll audit independent of support from another member Able to recommend and track level-up activities for items that need improvement. Cost analysis should come first for considering a new supplier addition. Support manager in meeting departmental goals and implementing cost saving ideas. Capable to negotiate cost reduction activities (APR) independent of support. Capable to audit a supplier and offer APR ideas to implement. Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent Bachelor's degree with emphasis in business, economics, or engineering helpful At least two years of purchasing or material control experience in a manufacturing environment Quality or Technical experience is preferred Arvin Sango, Inc. offers a stimulating, high-tech work environment backed by an excellent salary and benefits package.
