EERSON COUNTIND POLICE FIRE EMS COMMUNICATIO The Jefferson County 911 Central Dispatch is accepting applications for a Full-Time Dispatcher The Jefferson County 9 Central Dispatch is accepting applications for a Full-time dispatcher position. This position will answer 9 emergency calls and non-emergency calls. The Candidate must be able to obtain accurate, essential information to process each call according to established protocols, and use a Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system to enter all relevant information for dispatch. You must be able to type 30 wpm, multi-task, make important decisions quickly handle incoming calls, process information promptly while under stress, operate appropriate radio channels, and operate various computer applications. Additionally, the candidate must be able to work various shifts, holidays, weekends, and overtime as needed. Previous dispatching and/or public safety experience preferred but not required. Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain current IDACS certification from the Indiana State Police, and any training/and or certifications by NENA/APCO. The candidate must be able to pass a comprehensive background investigation, have no felony convictions and pass a pre-employment drug screen and have a valid drivers' license.
